#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 39)A little under a week's worth of experimenting in Unity and I've got a solid character controller for a game with unusual gravity, similar to Super Mario Galaxy. The frame-rate is a little choppy in the footage, but I hope it still looks cool!
Break down of the footage: It starts with me walking on the surface of a planetoid, moving the camera around the character. I then jump into the wall's gravity well and walk down it to the ground below. From there I try out gravity of different strengths, then walk down an arc. |
#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 53)Spent more time today working on this game idea I've had. Today I got it to a place where you can pick up weapons (Represented by placeholder pink cylinders,) open a tool wheel (Temp. icons,) select a weapon, and fire it (Temp. effects.) PROGRESS!

#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 55)Happy Fourth of July. Fireworks are rightfully closed in many places, so I made a quick program to make my own small fireworks show. Hope you think it's neat! (Audio from YouTube's Sound Library.)

#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 62)Late post tonight, but here's an in-progress look at my game jam game, complete with temp art and no sound! See you all at the end of this thing!

#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 63)With my friend Sydney covering the art, we together completed the 2020 #GMTKJam. Here's a video of the gameplay of our game "Fiery Forest Frenzy." You can play it for yourself at this link: https://calvin-and-hobbies.itch.io/fiery-forest-frenzy…

#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 71)My sister and I are big fans of #Amphibia and we in particular love Bessie the Snail. So for fun, I decided to make a Bessie 3D model using Blender! And using this model as a base, I hope to make a plush. But for now, here's the model's render!

#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 73)Working on my character rig once more and was able to get a walk working with the Adobe Character Animator system. It's still a little messy, but it will do. Next step: Turning.

#TheSketchySummer 2020 (Day 110)Classes begin tomorrow morning and with them comes the end of another Sketchy Summer.
This year's campaign was tough. Many days I could barely bring myself to draw anything. But in the end, I made some art I enjoyed. I hope you enjoyed them too. |
